Gokulananda Gitiswami: The Minstrel Per
Excellence By Chandra Kanta Singha

 Gokulananda Gitiswami is a name
deeply cherished by the Bishnupriya Manipuri people. There are
practically few persons in the community who may not know his name.
A versatile genius as he was, he was a dramatist, a poet, a
wondering minstrel and above all a social reformer. His life bears
testimony to all these high qualities of head and heart which can be
found only in a few gifted persons.

Chattapadhyaya that "It is I; It is you". All of the Bishnupriya
Manipuris should write their own history because in its truest sense
only the Bishnupriya Manipuris can approach sincerely on the
in-depth and systematic study in this field. [more..]

I've placed Gokulanda Gitiswami
on top of the list because Gitiswami has been one of the major
sources of inspiration from whom our present-day poets, and social
workers for that matter, continue to draw their sustenance. He has
proved himself to be our never-failing friend, philosopher and
guide. Read the review on 10 greatest personals in Bishnupriya
Manipuri history. [more..]

went through the article "on the term Bishnupriya Manipuri" written
